Cat Quest 3 may be aimed at children but it has a mature setup for an open-world game. Namely, players are free to roam the entire world almost from the start. Players get gear and a ship and after that opening cutscene, they are let loose only to be distracted by level gaps from enemies.

Unearth hidden Lost & Found treasures and return them to their owners in Cat Quest 3.
If an area feels too hard, retreat, and make a note to return later once a new level threshold is reached. Yes, there’s truly nothing like that sense of exploration in a game. For some, figuring out where to go first can be a taxing feeling though. So, here are some neat early, and easy locations to check out first.
7 Booty Cave
Finding Upgrade Stations And Good Claws
- Location: Pawt Purvanna
Pawt Purvanna is the turn where players can go to upgrade their gear and spells. Kidd Cat will handle equipment while Mage Bonney will boost spells. The town is north of where players start in the game. It’s good to note the town is here but it’s the lesser of two attractions in Pawt Purvanna.
Shortly to the East is a cave, Booty Cave, where players will meet Patchy. Patchy will betray players once they go inside and will become a boss fight. Defeating him will earn players his entire wardrobe including Patchy’s Claws, Patchy’s Hood, and Patchy’s Coat. The gear is good for boosting stats but the weapon, Patchy’s Claws, is a great melee weapon for a game like Cat Quest 3.
6 Finding The Grumpy Fishercat
Starting A Good Fishing Quest
- Location: Straits Island
Straits Island is located just above Pawt Purvanna. Avoid the East side as the Ice Pi-rats are too strong but make note of them to attack later. The Western side is an attractive place to visit. First, players need to shoot their ship’s cannon at the rocks in a counterclockwise movement.

Cat Quest 3: How to Unlock Meowtallika Concert
Rock out at the Meowtallika Concert in Cat Quest 3, but first, you will need to get the ticket!
Doing so will unlock the Magical Punching Bag accessory which will recharge Mana when players get hit. On the northern tip of this area is a fisherman, Grumpy Fishercat, who will give players an easy RPG side quest. They have to lure a nearby fish into a net, which will begin a bigger quest in Cat Quest 3. As a reward, players will get the Fishercat Hat which will increase damage done in the water, so it’s a good hat to wear while sailing around.
5 Finding Keys For The Triplets
Get The Knight Shield
- Location: Pawman Isles
The Pawman Isles are just southeast of Pawt Purvanna. Here players can fight a few astray enemies, and maybe find some chests, but the big goal is the middle island in this archipelago. That’s where players can bump into triplets who have lost their keys.
They will explain where they lost their keys, prompting players to go on an island-hopping side quest. Once complete, players will be rewarded with the Knight Shield. It’s categorized as a weapon but players can use it offensively too like a cat-themed version of Captain America.
4 Ruined Castle
Boosting Your Ship’s Power
- Location: Great Purrier Reef
The Ruined Castle is located on a giant island just East of Pawt Purvanna. On the south end of the island, players can see the name Great Purrier Reef. Inside this dungeon, players can find the ship armament, Canon Reload. Special Ammo will be greater once reloaded with this ship-based accessory.
Also, the Meowchine Gun is a good gun in the early hours of Cat Quest 3. Once exited, players should travel West on this island to find a bunch of roaming boars. They are led by The Boar King, which might be a hard boss fight for the little cat hero, but the reward, Magma Cannonpaw, will be worth it as a special ship add-on that will pair well with Canon Reload.
3 Lovepurr Castle
Get An Amazing Healing Spell
- Location: Lovepurr Islands
Lovepurr Castle, located far to the East on the Lovepurr Islands, is easily the most important location in the game. Players can find the healing spell, Healpaw, which will heal the player for a set amount of HP over time. It’s not as easy to heal in Cat Quest 3 as in other RPGs.
The best ways are normally through leveling up or resting at checkpoints. Healpaw changes the game by giving players access to a White Mage-like ability which will make taking down some of the harder bosses easier. It will also start a larger side quest, but let’s save those details for another time.
2 Orion Ruins
Get A Ton Good Early Gear
- Location: Meowtallika’s Bay
The Orion Ruins are absolutely stuffed with gear and the dungeon is located in Meowtallika’s Bay around the middle of the map. Here they can fight Captain Meowtallika and his men and gain some sweet gear like the Meowtallika Shirt and Meowtallika Helm. These two armor pieces will lessen the blow of lightning-based damage.

Unlock the path into the Infinite Tower by grabbing the Infinity Key in Cat Quest 3.
At the very bottom, players can fight the ghost boss, Seeker Orion. His rewards include Orion’s Cavalier which is a hat that boosts lightning damage. The Blade of Orion is a sword that will teleport players around on final combos and dodge rolls which look almost as cool as Noctis’ teleportation sword powers in Final Fantasy 15.
1 The Gentlebros’ Area
Gaining Some Secret Gear
- Location: SW Corner, Around 4
This is an area that might go unnoticed by most of the players in Cat Quest 3. First, players must sail down to the very most Southwest corner of the map. Once that is done, players should hug the bottom until they see a break in the border, right around the number 4 on the map.
Once through, players can either follow the white splotches in the water or go all the way South and then East until they see a gathering of black and white cats. These cats are meant to represent the development team at The Gentlebros., a small indie company responsible for this series. If players help them find their letters, they will give them two cosmetic pieces of gear along with The Architect, a pretty decent rod weapon.
