Create Shops To Increase Your Zoo's Income

You can place shops inside your zoo to increase your income, which is essential if you want to make the most money possible. It's important to set shops up in key areas with many visitors so that you can gain a lot of customers, and therefore, more money.

How do you unlock the bigger bus in Let's Build a Zoo? ›

Transport menu

To access this screen, click the zoo's ticket office, located at the main gate, and select Transport. There are four types of buses, each bigger than the last, unlockable through research, and five routes to assign for passenger pickup, unlockable by completing tasks for the city planner.

Hiring janitors is done from the zoo's main gate. Click Park Staff, then click the magnifying glass next to the janitor role to look at all the currently hired janitors. Then click the second tab and open up a position. The game will let you know through the alert system when one or more applicants is available.

After playing the main zoo for a day, you can see the sandbox zoo in the world map (either through the in-game world map - after pressing the transport button OR directly through the title screen > load game > select a save slot).

Research points

This process can be hastened by hiring additional researchers, but this can't be done until the number of slots is increased by unlocking the appropriate research nodes. Hiring another researcher as soon as possible is particularly valuable, so doing so is highly recommended.

To hire more Animal Keepers, click on the building, and then the staff button to be shown current staff. Click on the other tab to post a job opening. There will be an alert in the top left when there is an applicant to hire.

The variety of being able to splice any two animals together, paired with impactful morality-based decision making, make no two playthroughs of Let's Build a Zoo quite the same. Highly recommended. Spliced so many animals together and was really surprised at how long it kept me playing. So much fun!

Set buffs. Unlocking more nodes in a given category will offers related buffs. Collecting multiple street lamps, for example, allows lighting the zoo better and increasing opening hours.
