First came the chunky lug-sole loafer, then the classically cool driving loafer. And now, our attention has shifted to yet another loafer trend poised to dominate our wish lists and shopping carts: Introducing the sultry suede loafer, which for spring, screams “chic” no matter which way it’s styled. Of course, the aforementioned loafer styles are accounted for within the footwear fad–our favorites being a traditional suede moccasin from Tod’s to J.Crew’s platform pick.
Vogue’s Spring Suede Loafer Wish List:
- The Catwalk-to-Closet: The Row Ruth suede loafers, $1,190
- The Tassle-Adorned Loafer: H&M loafers, $85
- The Suede Moccasin: Mango suede leather moccasins, $140
- The Driving Loafer: Tod’s Gommino suede loafers, $695
- The Soft Suede: Aeyde Alfie suede loafers, $375
- The Lug-Sole Loafer: J.Crew Winona lug-sole penny loafers, $228
- The Classic Black: Massimo Dutti leather loafers, $149

The trend first caught our eyes back in September when brands like Miu Miu and The Row debuted the sultry shoe style on their spring 2024 runways. Since then it’s been picked by the fashion crowd who’ve been sporting suede loafers with everything from tailored black overcoats to lived-in pairs of denim. As we wait for spring’s first breath, one thing is for sure: The below 32 best suede loafers are about to become the centerpiece of your next-season capsule wardrobe.
Affordable Fashion
While classic black options are a closet no-brainer, like the below from Massimo Dutti and Veronica Beard, rich chocolatey brown styles from Valentino, Emme Parsons, and Le Monde Beryl are the ultimate new neutral. The latter compliments any transitional outfit formula to perfection, adding a chic yet subtly colorful pop. Speaking of color punches, baby pink and cherry red suede loafers from Bougeotte and M.Gemi promise to brighten up any mid-winter wardrobe blues. Statement red is still the top trending hue of the season, after all. For low-key polish, nothing beats a preppy penny loafer, with suede styles ranging from Aeyde to Manolo Blahnik. If it’s a driving loafer you’re after, It items include those from Mango, Prada, Tod’s, and Ann Mashburn. You know what they (sort of) say…if the loafer fits—buy them all!
